Author Copy ROI Calculator

Author Copy ROI Calculator
Instructions

This calculator will tell you how much of a return on investment you can expect if you purchase a set quantity of author copies of your book from KDP Print (or Amazon Prime), Ingram Spark, and/or BookVault.

Just enter the quantity of author copies you want to buy and how much you intend to sell them for, and optionally what they are available for on Amazon Prime.

Then choose at least one printer and enter the printing cost for a single copy of your book and how much it would cost to ship your author copies to you.

The full cost of each book for each printer will be displayed for you, and if you are logged in to your Apex Authors account you will see more details about what you can expect to earn and how many copies you need to sell before you will begin to see a profit.

If you are willing to join our weekly newsletter (usually sent on Friday mornings at 8am eastern time) then you can have the full calculations and conclusions emailed directly to you, whether you are logged in to an account or not. The summary email will also include a link you can use to pre-fill your data so you can avoid filling it out again in the future if you want to make small changes or add a new printer to your results.

This tool is provided as-is and at no charge and does not require you to be a current Apex Authors member; you are not required to sign up for our newsletter to use it, and are welcome to unsubscribe at any time after your first email if you are not interested in hearing from us after emailing yourself a summary from our system.

You can read our Terms of Use or our Privacy Policy from the links at the bottom of every page on our site, or reach out to our support desk if you have any questions or feedback.

Not sure why you need this calculator? Read about why and how to generate these calculations yourself here.

Beta Testing Notes:

This tool hasn't actually launched yet, so the article is not live on the website at this time. (If you were on our newsletter, you'd have already read about it before we created this tool since I made it after I was asked to, hahaha!)

Any and all feedback (positive or negative) is welcome and appreciated. Just reply to any of the summary emails or go to our support page. Thank you so much!
