The Fiction in 30 Challenge: Week 2
Welcome to week 2 of the Fiction in 30 Challenge!
Each week, we will work together as a community and work towards writing, publishing, and marketing our next novel so we can start the year off with a solid win.
This week, for the writing track we focused on Act One of the three-act structure. Detailed examples were given using examples from ‘The Wizard of Oz,' ‘The Hunger Games,' ‘Star Wars: A New Hope,' and ‘The Proposal.' Check email #6 for scene examples from ‘The Shawshank Redemption.'
For the publishing track, we discussed the differences between eBooks and print books, the significance of ISBNs and ASINs, and how to source images for your book.
In the marketing track, we explored how to get effective book covers, and how to leverage back matter for reader engagement.
