In this ask us anything session, we began by discussing some of the latest in self-publishing news:

  1. If you make direct sales of your books into the EU, then the accounting overhead will be much less burdensome starting on January 1st.
  2. Canva has acquired Leonardo.ai to enhance their generative AI capabilities
  3. Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) is now verifying some author identities to ensure tax compliance and reduce fraudulent content. (Eventually, everybody will have to verify who they are with a government-issued ID such as a driver's license or passport or risk having their account closed.)
